The Volunteer Journey

We are looking for individuals who are excited about using their professional experience to drive impact within the social
sector. Our consulting engagements last approximately four to six months; here is what you can expect your journey to look like:

  • Apply directly on our website here. We will be in touch with you shortly set up an interview so that we can learn more about experience and motivation.

  • At Collaboration Partners we do ensure that each new team members goes through these six key areas:

    • Kick off with our core team

    • Introduce new hires to coworkers and interfaces

    • Familiarize new hires with our culture, tools, and processes

    • Provide necessary overview for new team members to do their job

    • Include regular feedback between the new hire and onboarder

    • Establish personal goals and OKRs

  • Closer to your project kick-off, you will have the chance to meet your project team members and connect with your client counterparts.

  • At the beginning of each engagement, you will work with your project team and the client to jointly identify the problem they need help with and align on the objectives for the engagement. Please note that the CP team will align on a Statement of Work with the clients in advance of every project. That Statement of Work will define the scope of your engagement (what outcomes does your client expect and what work is not part of the project).

  • Every engagement usually starts with collecting the right data and information to build a fact base and understand the problem. This data collection usually happens through interviewing key stakeholders, desk research and speaking to industry experts. From there, you will develop and assess possible solutions for the client to address the problem. Please note that CP follows a co-creation approach, where you work closely with your client counterparts to share findings, test hypothesis and co-develop solutions. Every project team is expected to have regular touchpoints to receive input and validation from your client counterparts.

  • Project teams are expected to have (at least) two presentations of their findings and recommendations to the client (usually around project mid- and end-point).

  • Build your personal and professional network.

What our Volunteers Say About Their Experience

“Volunteering with Collaboration Partners was a fantastic experience. We had the pleasure of working with a food bank on their strategic planning process. It felt great to contribute to a local cause, and I developed a range of skills that I don't normally get to apply at work."

- Past Volunteer from Collaboration Partners, Sid.

"It's been an amazing journey with Collaboration Partners. I could create an impact at multiple spectrums. I joined as a consultant in 2019 and navigated through different roles within the organization. This has really helped me hone my professional as well as personal skills and better understand the challenges of non-profits."

– Current Volunteer from Collaboration Partners, Rupali.
