  • Identifying and evaluating alternative forms of funding to supplement current operational budget 

  • Assisting an organization with defining and communicating its unique value proposition.  

  • Enhancing an organization’s volunteer engagement strategy 

  • Developing a strategy to increase campaign donation funds  

  • Assessing potential demographic markets for a client’s services

Engagement Manager Role

You will gain first-hand consulting experience at Collaboration Partners working on non-profit client projects. The Team Leader role is the most critical role to the success of a consulting engagement. The Team Leader is the team “quarterback” who guides the process from beginning to end. This includes clarifying the workplan with the client to form a more detailed approach during the kick-off meeting, coordinating the efforts and work product of the team of consultants, and keeping the project on track by scheduling meetings by the appropriate deadlines. The Team Leader will collaborate with the consulting team members. 

Qualifications, Experiences, and Skills

Engagement Managers require the following qualifications: 

  • Undergraduate degree / Master’s degree 

  • At least three to five years of full-time work experience in the private/public/non-profit sector 

  • Management consulting (on internal strategy) and non-profit experience preferred 

  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills  

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills 

  • Experience directly managing a project team. This includes creating a project plan, assigning and overseeing discrete tasks for team members, resolving project issues, etc.  

  • Experience managing a client relationship and interacting with senior stakeholders to drive buy-in

Time Commitment

Collaboration Partners takes its client engagements seriously. Those who wish to apply should expect to commit an average of five to seven hours a week for project work, meetings and events. Our engagements are currently being conducted in a fully remote environment as a result of the restrictions in place due to COVID-19. Occasional in-person meetings may return as the situation in the province continues to improve. 

Volunteers schedule meetings with their team and client based on the availability of the participants.

Consultant Role

You will gain first-hand consulting experience at Collaboration Partners by working on pro bono strategy engagements for a non-profit organization or charity. Consulting team members will work alongside other experienced professionals to address the client’s needs. From identifying issues and conducting market research to presenting to senior management teams and working alongside clients to develop strategies to implement our recommendations, you will have the opportunity to make a direct contribution to catalysing social impact in our community. 

Qualifications, Experiences, and Skills

  • Undergraduate degree / Master’s degree

  • At least two years of full-time work experience in the private/public/non-profit sector

  • Non-profit volunteering involvement is beneficial but not required. We welcome any individual seeking to broaden and supplement their work experience with non-for-profit exposure

  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills 

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills

Our Winter 2022 Engagements

The engagements below have a target start date of early January 2022. Applications are now open and they will be evaluated on a rolling basis. Please follow the application instructions explained below and do not submit an online application through our website unless you’d like to apply to a general role.  

 

Client 1: A large women-focused organization that provides various programming to better equip women for the workforce. We will be helping the Toronto Chapter.

Engagement Type: Marketing Strategy

Specifically, we are looking for consulting team members to support on a marketing strategy and stakeholder communications engagement, scheduled to start Jan2022. This will include optimizing the non-profit’s current website to ensure an effective structure and messaging to support its marketing strategy. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct primary and secondary research (e.g., interviews with clients, industry best practices) and analysis across a wide range of quantitative and qualitative data 

  • Develop strategic options and recommendations for the marketing strategy and stakeholder communications, leveraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills 

  • Support contractor procurement for website optimization 

  • Plan and facilitate meetings and presentations with key stakeholders 

  • Work collaboratively within the consulting team to drive analysis  

  • Share experiences and feedback with our Collaboration Partners teams, as required 

Qualifications, Experiences, and Skills

  • Undergraduate / Masters’ degree 

  • Minimum two (2) years of professional experience, preferably in a (management) consulting, digital marketing, or communications capacity 

  • Experience working with clients and managing client relationships 

  • Experience managing projects, ideally from a marketing lens 

  • Experience in managing IT / website projects is considered an asset  

  • Demonstrated leadership in a professional or volunteer environment 

  • Maintain a proactive and positive attitude, and be willing to assist the rest of the executive team on various business matters 

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Product Suite 

  • Self-starter, self-directed individual who works well in a remote setting

Client 2: National non-profit focused on the healthcare sector, particular in education of healthcare professionals and the broader community regarding palliative care

Engagement Type: “Brandraising” and donnor communication Strategy

Specifically, we are looking for consulting team members to support on a "brandraising” (strategy to raise awareness about the non-profit brand) and donor communications engagement, scheduled to start Jan 2022. Responsibilities will include reframing current donor materials to spark a greater, emotional connection.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct primary and secondary research (e.g., interviews with clients, industry best practices) and analysis across a wide range of quantitative and qualitative data

  • Develop strategic options and recommendations for brand awareness raising and donor communications, leveraging critical thinking and creativity skills

  • Plan and facilitate meetings and presentations with key stakeholders

  • Work collaboratively within the consulting team to drive analysis

  • Share experiences and feedback with our Collaboration Partners teams, as required

Qualifications, Experiences, and Skills

  • Undergraduate / Masters’ degree

  • Minimum two (2) years of professional experience, preferably in a (management) consulting, public relations, marketing / advertising / copywriting, or communications capacity

  • Experience working with clients and managing client relationships

  • Experience managing communications to external audiences

  • Experience in copywriting / branding is considered an asset

  • Demonstrated leadership in a professional or volunteer environment

  • Maintain a proactive and positive attitude, and be willing to assist the rest of the executive team on various business matters

  • Develop strategic options and recommendations for various programs aimed at revenue generation for the organization

  • Plan and facilitate meetings and presentations with key stakeholders

  • Undergraduate / Masters’ degree

  • Minimum two (2) years of professional experience, preferably in a (management) consulting, finance, or social enterprise

  • Experience working with clients and managing client relationships

  • Demonstrated leadership in a professional or volunteer environment

  • Maintain a proactive and positive attitude, and be willing to assist the rest of the executive team on various business matters

Area: Internal Strategy & Operations

Chief Strategy & Operations Officer Overview

The Chief Strategy & Operations Officer is responsible for defining our strategy and ensuring that we achieve our strategic and operational objectives. This role will partner with our Executive Team and work closely with the members of the Board of Directors in implementing the organization’s key strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors and Executive Team Leads to lead the development of the annual strategic and operating plans focused on growing Collaboration Partners and enhancing operational efficiencies

  • Track progress of individual work-streams to the annual strategic plan and re-align priorities as needed

  • Ensure appropriate metrics are in place to measure performance and progress towards strategic goals

  • Facilitate organizational execution through guiding direct reports which will include: VP Client & Talent Recruitment, VP Consulting Operations and the Director Strategy & Internal Operations

  • Lead and oversee functional groups to ensure that volunteers have the tools, resources, and support required to execute on day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives

Qualifications, Experiences, and Skills

We welcome applications from any individual seeking to broaden and supplement their work experience with a volunteer role or to gain exposure to the non-profit sector. Non-profit volunteering involvement is beneficial but not required.

  • Undergraduate / Masters’ degree

  • Minimum five (5) years of professional experience, preferably in management consulting, corporate strategy, corporate operations, or similar roles

  • Strong preference for hands-on experience in strategy development and strategic planning

  • Minimum three (3) years of people management experience, preferably working with senior management

  • Communication and influencing skills with the ability to resolve issues and build consensus

  • Experience in effectively managing multidisciplinary teams and being able to manage up / down

  • Strong process management skills, including implementation and KPIs reporting

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products

Marketing Specialist Overview

We currently have an opportunity for a Marketing Specialist to join our team.  If you thrive in a fast-paced environment filled and want to contribute to marketing campaigns raising brand awareness and engaging with our community through social media platforms and are passionate about giving back to the community, then this role is for you!

We are looking a professional with at least two years of work experience in a marketing or marketing support role. Non-profit volunteering involvement is beneficial but not required. We welcome individuals seeking to broaden and supplement their work experience with not-for-profit exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Support the marketing team with content planning, management and execution across all channels (email, webs, and social, etc.)

  • Own the content calendar and strategy for Collaboration Partners for internal and external communications

  • Manage earned and owned social media strategy including content planning, content calendar, etc. Write copy for organizational communication (internal and external audiences) and responsible for posting on social media platforms (LinkedIn and Facebook)

  • Act as the liaison with internal teams for content reviews and approvals Responsible for updating & the maintenance of website copy based on business needs

Qualifications, Experiences, and Skills

  • 2+ years of marketing experience in copywriting, digital marketing and/or marketing project management

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma, with focus on Marketing would be an asset

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of core digital marketing channels (social, email and web)

  • Experience in executing multi-channel marketing campaigns

  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with other teams

  • Experience in developing content strategies and content calendars

  • Self started, self motivated to work in a virtual set up

Digital Graphic Designer Overview

We currently are looking for a Digital Graphic Designer to join our team.  If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy taking with full ownership focused on a good cause, then this role is for you! We are seeking a highly creative Digital and Graphic Designer with a passion for web, design and digital media to create designs for Collaboration Partners. We need someone who lives and breathes web and design, has a keen eye for detail, enjoys working in different mediums and formats, and loves working as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Own creation and marketing designs including ownership over the asset development process

  • Create, update and maintain marketing-related materials and establish and manage image libraries

  • Support with any design needs for updates on Collaboration Partners website

  • Analyze and improve our reach by continuously asking if something additional can be done to improve positioning, performance of channels / assets (email, social, web, etc.)

  • Contribute to the organizational marketing strategy and tactics by creating design for digital use (email, social media posts on LinkedIn and Facebook, presentation graphics etc.)

  • Ensure all visual content follows Collaboration Partners’ brand voice and identity

Qualifications, Experiences, and Skills

  • 2+ years in a digital / graphic design role

  • Undergraduate Degree/Diploma with graphic design focus will be an asset

  • Experience working for an agency would be an asset, but not required

  • Proficiency in the Adobe CC including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, InViso, Canva or similar

  • Conceptual and design skills within the Squarespace environment (basic coding skills an asset)

  • Knowledge in design standards for digital media use

  • Knowledge of web design best practices, including page optimization and responsive design

  • Ability to create and manage designs from concept through production and delivery

  • Energetic, motivated, positive attitude
